$10,000 Donated - 42% of our Goal!

My, it has been a while since I last blogged; I have been quite busy lately. I apologize for my inactivity here none-the-less.

Over the past few weeks I prepared for a big event on my and DfaD's calendar: the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament to be held at Union University. The tournament took place yesterday evening and was (as far as I could tell) a huge hit. We have 60-70 people show up, and we had 47 entrants. We raised, from a combination of entry fees, separate donations, and money raised from my sisters' bake-sale (also at the event), a little over 350 dollars!

The whole event ran very smoothly, I could tell everyone was having a fun time, and above all I really felt the Lord's hand over the proceedings. Initially, I was hoping for four TVs (and even then not all digital), but by the time of the event, I had six flatscreen TVs all over 30", seven Wii systems (and copies of the game), as well as more than enough controllers. Yep, God was in it! :D

Team-Member Spotlight

Fellowship of Christian Athletes here in West Tennessee has set a goal to raise $8,000, or one well, for Dollar for a Drink. Thank you FCA!

Upcoming Event

We will be hosting a Super Smash Bros. Brawl (a video game) tournament at Union University on October 30th to raise money for DfaD, as well as to give the students a fun event. I will provide more info as that gets closer.

Well, today I received $475 in donations via the P.O. box and some friends of my dad's at work. Thus, we hit $9,000 today! Whoot! The Lord is good. :D
