$8,000 (1 well) donated!

Today marks a very momentous occasion for Dollar for a Drink in 2009: we received enough money to push us over $8,000! In other words, we have enough for ONE WELL ALREADY! Indeed, today is only about a week away from the time we started up LAST year and the Lord has already blessed us with enough for one well in Sudan!

Thank you all so much who have helped us get this far, and keep up the great work everyone! Remember, I still need help in promoting the project so don't hesitate to get something started!

Soli Deo Gloria!

Several Large Developments...

This past Thursday (the 17th) I received two very important and exciting e-mails in my inbox. The first came from a reporter from United Press International, and they want to do an article on DfaD in their "Global Water Issues" section! Obviously, this is very, very huge as they reach an international audience (they get 2.8 million unique visitors a month!). I believe I will be having an interview sometime next week, so your prayers would be appreciated.

The second e-mail was received from Alex Harris who is a co-author of the book, "Do Hard Things". Back in the Spring Alex and Brett Harris wrote a blog entry on their very popular Christian teen website (TheRebelution.com) asking other "Rebelutionaries" to send in their stories for use in their next book, "Start Here", which is a follow-up book to "Do Hard Things". Well, Alex sent me a document which I needed to fill out in order to legally allow them and their publisher to use the Dollar for a Drink story in the book. I'm very…

Over $7,000 received!

This actually happened Friday, but we topped 7 grand! Whooohoooo! The Lord is good! :D

In addition, the Facebook group has grown to over 1,700 members! Yay!

Over $6,000 Raised!

Well, we topped 6,000 dollars today; the Lord is good! : )

Please note that about $5,700 of that was a combination of what was left over from last year and what has been donated in the meantime.

Promotional Video Complete!

Well, I'm sure that you've seen it on the front page, but I'll just blog about the fact that the promotional video has now been completed and is up on YouTube! Here is the URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Aq1fuAiNEo

Please spread the word, and don't forget to join the Facebook group!

I'd like to say a special Thank-You to Scott Lancaster of Union University, who did a FANTASTIC job with the video! Without his help, it wouldn't have been anywhere NEAR as good as it is (it probably wouldn't even exist, for that matter). Thanks Scott! :D

In other news, The Facebook group has topped 1500 members, I have gotten multiple e-mails/PMs from people expressing a desire to help promote the cause, and I have started to receive a fair amount of donations. I'm so excited about the new year and to see what the Lord has in store for us! : )

Please note that the P.O. box has changed numbers from 265 to 570. We doubled out box size.

Now, let's change the world for the Lord!

Dollar for a Drink '09 Re-launch!

Greetings all! My, it is so very amazing to think back to this time last year when we were simply getting prepared to get started PERIOD. Well, a year has gone by, and the Lord has blessed the project immensely. It is now time to move forward with the next chapter in the DfaD project!

Today (September 1st) is the official "re-launch" date for the organization in 2009! This basically means we are now going to start promotion in earnest and are encouraging others to do the same.

Essentially, Dollar for a Drink depends on others taking the project into their churches and schools, and others who suggest the project to their newspapers or radio stations. For me personally, I mainly have an outreach here locally (West Tennessee, basically) and and outreach into the internet, which can expand Nationwide. This won't cut it, however. I would greatly appreciate it if YOU could take a few minutes and download some of the posters here and put them up around your church, school, or workplace. Help…
