Name: Joshua Guthrie
Age/Grade: 18 / Sr. in Highschool
Status: Director of Dollar for a Drink
Bio: Joshua is a rather average guy who is currently wrapping up his high-school career—college looms on the horizon. In addition to other activities, he enjoys reading (favorites: C.S. Lewis & J.K. Rowling), playing video games (favorites: Metroid Prime & Mario Galaxy), and hanging out with his awesome friends. A dream of his is to write a fictional saga one day—think Lord of the Rings meets The Chronicles of Narnia and Star Wars and you'll get the idea. Also, once upon a time, when he had more spare time, a much-loved hobby of his was building with LEGO (Bionicle, specifically); sadly, this past-time has since declined its frequency. Joshua lives with his father (Dr. George Guthrie, professor at Union University), mother (one of the best cooks on earth), and his younger sister, Anna, in Jackson Tennessee.

Greetings all; thanks for "dropping" by! Haha, get it? "Dropping" by? You know, like a drop of wat— oh never mind. This is the blog of Joshua Guthrie, Director of the DfaD organization (see his bio to the right), who will hopefully keep you all up-to-date on the inner workings of DfaD throughout the Year III campaign...

It's good to have you here! I will be posting (at least) weekly updates on the campaign's donation progress in addition to other tid-bits which you might find interesting. It is my intention to be as straightforward and transparent with you, the donor, in this blog as I can. Have questions? Please feel free to comment on the blog entries, or swing by the "contact" page to send me a longer message if you like.

Launch Day's Eve

Well, this is it! It's less than 24 hours until Dollar for a Drink "officially" launches its' third promotional year/goal. There's still stuff to do on the website and the promo video will take a few weeks longer to finish, but I feel pretty good with where things are at the moment. Now hopefully my custom domain registration will go through with Squarespace and 1&1 on time...

Here's to Year III!

Preparation coming along

Production on the website is coming along well — graphics and formating are falling into place. Also, I got some great ideas for posters the other day, and those are coming together excellently. Editing on the promo video should begin in the next week.

Squarespace... Engage

Alright, so I made the decision to go ahead and dive into using Squarespace fully for the DfaD Year III website. For those of you who will take the time to check out this site (as opposed to the official "filler" site: www.dollarforadrink.org) I would greatly appreciate your feedback on the layout and overall feel of the new site. Please shoot me an e-Mail here — I'd greatly appreciate it!
